Listing templates

Create reusable, channel-neutral template rules for bulk draft creation.

Last updated:

Use Listings → Templates to create and maintain reusable, channel-neutral template rules for bulk draft creation. Templates do not store channel targets; the channel choice happens when you run Create drafts. Draft creation accepts selected channel_codes, so one template can create eBay and Website drafts together.

The Listing templates list supports search, page-size control, and sorting by last updated date, template name, or default listing mode, so saved rules stay easy to find as the template library grows.

Editing and preview

The template detail Record change history panel records template create, save, and delete events, so changes to reusable draft rules can be traced later.

The template editor preview renders the title and description with stock values instead of raw tokens. By default it uses example stock data; use Choose stock item in the preview panel to select one of your stock records and see the same token replacement against your stock data before saving. The preview is strict: it renders only the title template into Title preview and only the description template into Description preview.

Supported tokens

Supported listing-template tokens are {{sku}}, {{name}}, {{description}}, {{group_name}}, {{group_code}}, {{manufacturer_barcode}}, {{manufacturer_barcode_format}}, {{unit}}, {{unit_of_issue}}, {{location}}, {{location_code}}, and {{price}}. {{manufacturer_barcode_format}} renders a readable label such as EAN-13 (European Article Number, 13 digits) instead of the stored schema value. Approved stock item Reference facts are also available as normalised tokens using lower-case names with spaces/punctuation changed to underscores. For example, Reference facts named Artist, Brand, and Catalogue number can be used as {{artist}}, {{brand}}, and {{catalogue_number}}.

Template item specifics

Template Item specifics (optional) are reusable name/value mappings. The name is the marketplace or Website attribute label; the value can be plain text, one token, or multiple tokens mixed with text. For example:

Specific name Value
Artist {{artist}}
Brand {{brand}}
Edition {{format}} {{edition}}
Catalogue number {{catalogue_number}}

When you create drafts from a template, ChannelWeave renders these mappings against the selected stock item and saves the rendered item specifics on the created eBay and Website drafts. They complement stock item Reference facts: Reference facts provide the verified stock-backed attributes, and template item specifics let you choose which attributes should be carried into channel-facing drafts.

Using templates from stock

From Stock, Create drafts can create stock-linked Amazon, eBay, Shopify and Website drafts in one run. When a saved template is selected, template rules are applied to eBay and Website, including rendered item specifics; Amazon and Shopify drafts use the current stock defaults and then open in their channel draft editors for channel-specific refinement.
