Locations

Define the warehouse or fulfilment sites where stock can be held.

Last updated:

Use Inventory → Locations to define the warehouse or fulfilment sites where stock can live. Locations are the addressable places that bins and stock balances belong to.

Note: Locations and Warehouse are not the same thing. Warehouse is the operational starting point for floor work; Locations define the sites where stock can be held.

Columns

  • Code: your short code for the location
  • Location: the location name
  • Town / Postcode: the address summary
  • Country: the country the site is in

Actions

  • Create location: add a new warehouse or fulfilment site

Location detail

Location detail captures:

  • Location code: the short operational code for the site.
  • Name: the user-facing location name.
  • Address lines, Town / city, County / state, Postcode, and Country code: the address summary for the site. Country code uses ISO-2 format, such as GB or US. For United Kingdom locations, use GB; UK postcodes are validated and saved in standard outward/inward format, such as SW1A 1AA.
  • Contact, Telephone, and Fax: optional site contact details.

Locations are selected on stock items and warehouse tasks. Choose a location before selecting bins, because bins belong to one location.

The getting-started checklist treats this setup as complete only when the account has both a location and at least one bin. Quantity imports need a specific Location + Bin destination before opening stock can be recorded.

Where locations are used

  • Stock item storage defaults
  • Stock adjustments and warehouse transfers
  • Bin setup and scan-first warehouse tasks
  • Warehouse setup progress and working-location selection
  • Inventory health, valuation, and movement review where location context is available

Record change history

Location detail includes a collapsed Record change history card. It lists event-log-backed changes for the location record, separate from stock movement and Warehouse task history.
