WooCommerce

Connect an existing WooCommerce store to create reviewed simple-product drafts, bring existing products and orders into ChannelWeave, and keep linked stock quantities aligned.

Where to access it

  1. Open Control Centre.
  2. Find the WooCommerce card.
  3. Choose the sliders icon or Connect WooCommerce from this card.

You need permission to manage Channel connections in ChannelWeave and an account that can approve REST API access in the WooCommerce store.

Connect a store

  1. Enter the store's public HTTPS address, such as https://shop.example.com.
  2. Choose Continue to WooCommerce.
  3. Sign in to WordPress if prompted.
  4. Approve ChannelWeave's read/write access request.
  5. Return to ChannelWeave and confirm the connection is shown as Connected.

ChannelWeave supports one WooCommerce store per ChannelWeave account in this first release. Reconnecting replaces the credentials for that same store; it does not create a second store connection. Disconnect the current store before connecting a different one. A store can belong to only one ChannelWeave account at a time.

Initial sync

After connection, use:

  • Sync catalogue to import current WooCommerce products and variations as published listings.
  • Sync recent orders to import orders changed during the last 30 days.

Signed WooCommerce webhooks then keep product and order changes flowing without repeated manual refreshes.

Create a simple-product draft

  1. Open Listings → Drafts → Create draft and choose WooCommerce, or use Create drafts from a stock item.
  2. Select the stock item that will own the listing.
  3. Review the title, SKU, price and whole-number quantity. Description, WooCommerce category ID and stock images are optional.
  4. Choose Create WooCommerce draft. ChannelWeave creates a remote WooCommerce product with status Draft; it is not live.
  5. Review the product, then choose Publish to store and confirm only when it is ready to become visible and purchasable.

The first creation release supports WooCommerce simple products. It does not create variable products or variations. After the remote draft is created, its ChannelWeave draft is retained as submission history and cannot be edited, archived or deleted. Review the remote product before the separate live publish step.

Product and stock behaviour

  • WooCommerce products and variations are imported as published listings.
  • ChannelWeave links an imported listing to stock only when its SKU exactly matches a unique stock item SKU in the same account.
  • Unmatched products remain visible for review and can be linked to an existing stock item from listing detail.
  • When a linked stock item's availability changes, ChannelWeave updates the tracked WooCommerce product or variation quantity.
  • A WooCommerce order reserves stock in ChannelWeave and sends the resulting availability to other linked Channels. ChannelWeave does not immediately send that same reservation back to the source WooCommerce store, avoiding a double reduction.

Order behaviour

ChannelWeave imports the buyer, addresses, line items, totals and refunds needed for Sales operations. WooCommerce status is normalised as follows:

  • Pending payment becomes an open order awaiting payment.
  • On hold becomes a confirmed order, awaiting payment unless payment evidence is present.
  • Processing becomes a confirmed, paid order.
  • Completed becomes Dispatched. It does not become Delivered without separate delivery evidence.
  • Cancelled, Failed and Trash become cancelled orders and release undisbursed reservations.
  • Refunded becomes cancelled with refunded payment status; positive refund records are kept idempotently in the refund ledger.

Security and reliability

  • Consumer credentials and the webhook signing secret are encrypted before they are stored.
  • Callback state is signed, short-lived and one-use. ChannelWeave stores only a hash of its nonce and does not treat an entered URL as proof of ownership.
  • The store identity is accepted only after WooCommerce credentials verify. The same verified store cannot be active for two ChannelWeave accounts.
  • WooCommerce requests use the store's verified public HTTPS address. Private or reserved destinations and unsafe redirects are rejected.
  • Webhooks are checked with their HMAC signature and deduplicated before product or order processing.

If connection or sync fails

  • Confirm the store address is the public HTTPS URL where WooCommerce is installed.
  • Reconnect WooCommerce and approve read/write access again.
  • Confirm the store can receive requests at its standard WordPress REST API.
  • Retry Sync catalogue or Sync recent orders after the connection shows as healthy.
  • If creating or publishing a product has an unknown outcome, use Reconcile WooCommerce before retrying. ChannelWeave blocks duplicate submission while reconciliation is required.
  • Check Events & diagnostics for the recorded failure before retrying repeatedly.
